Brain of Bolton
The final of the Brain of Bolton Competition will take place on Monday November 2nd at the Astley Bridge Conservative Club starting at 8.00pm.
The twenty top two point scorers over the season are invited to participate in a quiz .
Tables will be published every week so that you will know whether you are in the top 20.
If you are and you do not wish to compete, will you please let me know asap.
For those who would like to compete, the format will be as follows
- The first half of the quiz will be an elimination competition comprising 5 rounds of 20 general knowledge questions.
- All the competitors will be asked the same questions and answers will be written down on a scoresheet and then marked.
- After the first 2 rounds the 4 lowest combined scorers will be eliminated and thereafter the 4 lowest combined scorers at the end of each subsequent round will be eliminated until we have four players left. This will end the first half of the quiz
- The four finalists will carry their first half scores through into the second half
- They will then have 4 or possibly 5 (depending on time) themed rounds where each player will get his own individual questions. We hope to be able to get some buzzers so that in the case of a wrong answer the others will be able to buzz in for a bonus. The scores from the rounds will be cumulative and at the end of all the rounds we will have our Brain of Bolton 2009
