The Brain of Bolton 2011 last Monday was the keenly contested competition. Out of a starting line up of 22 players and after 100 questions the 4 finalists emerged with only two points separating them.
After a further six rounds the results were Jeff Taylor (Dunscar Cons Club) 21, Andy Walker ( Seven Stars) 22, Malc Mackinder Thomas Egerton) 25, Gary Grant (Bowling Green) 33
The scores were very close throughout and it was only in the final quickfire round on the buzzer that Gary produced his winning margin. Many thanks to all the participants and congratulations to the four finalists.
Presentation Evening is next Monday starting the Rosebowl final at 8pm. Everyone is welcome.
An excellent presentation evening and finals night with two closely contested matches.
In the Rosebowl Final, The Howcroft (10) beat The BX Nomads (12) 75 – 64 which on the face of it looks like a large winning margin. However the scores were 58 – 55 going into round 9 which was a music round and which the Nomads lost 8 – 1 and there was no way back for them.
The Ron Lewis trophy final was another closely fought contest and, although the Bowling Green led throughout, Breightmet never lost touch. In the end the Bowling Green won 60 – 52
Well done and thanks to all the teams for making it a very entertaining evening and thanks to all who attended.
The new season will start on April 11th and I will send the fixtures round in a couple of days.
Please note that the Sweet Green Ramblers will now play from the Howcroft and will be called the Howcroft Ramblers.
If there are any other changes please let me know.
Good Luck for the season.
