Pocket RDA is a boon for DBA’s and support personnel (and anyone else who needs to access data remotely!) everywhere. Sit in a meeting and get the latest sales figures.
Pocket RDA will allow you to control ANY* database accessible through ODBC or ADO from your Pocket PC**. Simply connect to your server, select your database and away you go. Connect using a network card, or a modem into your system.
For modem connection, connect to a ‘dial-in-server’, or if your system is ‘visible’ on the interenet, just dial in to your ISP, and you will be routed through.
Pocket RDA uses a multi-threaded ‘data server’ as a middleman, and routes requests to your Pocket PC. From your Pocket PC you can
- Run queries
- Insert/update/delete data
- Execute stored procedures
- Examine the structure of your databases
